In the warm Christmas ambiance of the head office of CowHouse on 11th December of 2015 the Annual End Year meeting of the FDRL took place. As a member of the Foundation and in the role of the Coordination Centre, the team of European Staff BV has organized and coordinated the event which has been on of the most interesting and successful in the history of FDRL.
Together with our members, partners, friends and guests the participants have enjoyed an extended program, with inspiring speakers, interesting tour through the production facilities of our host CowHouse and at the end - a very surprising visit of the real Russian Ded Moroz (played by our Director Anton Romanov himself!), including nice Christmas presents!
The event was opened by the Chairman of FDRL Mr. Jack Koopman who gave the word to the honoured guest from the Embassy of the Russian Federation Mr. Oleg Pugaev afterwards.
The director of the hosting company this year - CowHouse - Mr. Rinse Andringa took the guests into the wold of the products and services of the company – during his extended presentation and the round tour through the building and the production units of the company.
This year the team of the Coordination Centre is very proud to have been able to engage very interesting and prominent speakers for this event. An international entrepreneur and director of izi.Travel Mr. Alex Tourski has shared his extensive experience in launching of innovative start-up projects in Russia, dealing with the local authorities trying to implement his innovative ideas. The story about a danger of a “Black Swan” for your business and risks and opportunities for innovations in a challenging political and economic climate took full attention of participants and resulted in a wave of questions and an inspiring discussion afterwards.
The second speaker of the event – very famous Dutch writer and correspondent, Mr. Jelle Brandt Corstius - has told the participants a very interesting and colourful story of Jelle’s Russia. As a result of his travels and reports in all corners of the former Soviet Union, he wrote a number of books about his experiences in Russia which later formed the basis for the television series for the Dutch TV. The presentation of Jelle, given with humoristic vision of very often a contradiction reality of his experiences, was recognized by the appreciation and applauds of the participants.
Traditionally, at the end of the meeting the treasurer of FDRL Mr. Jan-Willem de Vries gave an overview of the year 2015 activities and a financial report of the Foundation.
One of the highlights of the day was for sure a surprising visit of the real Russian Ded Moroz, who has brought nice presents for all participants of the event and a real Christmas and new year spirit into this business event. The networking drinks afterward were very informal and gave a great feeling for the start of the holiday season.
