— BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
— BS/MS Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering

— Under the direction the Technical Manager, this position works independently or in conjunction with other engineers, plant managers,production superintendents, and / or production and maintenance personnel bothin-house and at customer level as a Process Engineer to support Films extrusion and converting processes. Main responsibilities will include supporting the polymer Extrusion process first, followed by the converting department. Plant support will include continuous improvement activities aimed at process engineering, process control enhancements and process understanding. Improving key performance metrics (i.e. rate, yield, OEE, etc.) via process verification application will be required. Implementation of lean manufacturing techniques and Six Sigma methodologies will be expected. Day-to-day production support,including methodical troubleshooting, will be required while working in a matrix environment.
— Included is also a thorough understanding of the materials,technology, equipment design, process, and science behind polymer extrusion processes. The engineer in this position will make recommendations for scaleup, design modifications and process, procedural, or equipment improvements that will enhance the processing window to improve tape or film flatness. The position will also work closely with functional areas to leverage internally developed ideas and trade secrets.
