— . Handle complex new designs and updates hands-on, i.e. touch screen designs, membrane switch designs, circuit layout, and printed electronics designs, etc.
— . Provide high level management oversight of all product designs; support individual designers and project managers.

— . Organize continuous improvement product development projects.

— . Support sales and marketing in new and continuing business development.
— . Support the executive management team in achieving ECI business objectives.
— SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
— . Monitors and reports department metrics
— . This includes all established department goals.
— . Ensure design standards and procedures are followed.
— . Review project specifications, resource estimates and scheduling.
— . Lead/manage problem solving activities to root cause to resolve design manufacturing issues related to any design or product engineering issues.
— . Provide engineering support to manufacturing through all phases of production.
— . Perform other position related duties as assigned.
— As a member of the management team, you will play a key role in supporting the planning and execution of our continuous improvement activities. Hands-on, functional responsibilities include updating CAD drawings, design of new projects, tooling drawings, film separations, circuit layout and shop drawings.
— Experience in electronics production and CNC manufacturing helpful. Must learn shop manufacturing processes, and understand design criteria for best suitable manufacturing practices.
— Knowledge of ASTM, and IPC standards helpful.
— Manages and coordinates design of new products and improvements to existing products or product lines. Evaluates and ensures design feasibility and design optimization. Reviews job orders, travelers, and design documents. Checks Bill of Materials for accuracy, adjusting designs as needed. Manages Engineering Department scheduling and oversight of design staff's daily workload, checking work for accuracy, and works with customer service staff on projects directly as deemed necessary by complexity. Must have the ability to visualize new designs and communicate elements of designs effectively to others while working under pressure in a fast paced environment.
